Czarina Behrends, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is a trained epidemiologist with extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research focused on improving harm reduction and health services for people who use drugs. Dr. Behrends’ current work focuses on evaluating the public health impact of innovative harm reduction and health services delivery models for people who use drugs as well as estimating the associated cost and cost-effectiveness of implementing these programs.  Dr. Behrends works closely with community-based programs and health departments to conduct research that addresses broad public health concerns and barriers to healthcare identified by people who use drugs.
