About Us

The Association for Addiction Health Services Research (AAHSR) brings together researchers, policymakers, and treatment providers to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in addiction services—including inequities in access, effectiveness, and implementation. Since 2003, AAHSR has convened its annual Addiction Health Services Research Conference at leading institutions across the United States, including Weill Cornell Medicine, Brandeis University, the University of Utah School of Medicine, Brown University, and others.

The mission of the Association for Addiction Health Services Research is to support rigorous research, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote the translation of findings into evidence-based practice and policy. A primary conduit for fulfilling this mission is the planning, organization, and management of annual scientific meetings that aim to address and solve problems, as well as disseminate evidence related to addiction health services research and implementation science research.

Through its annual conference, AAHSR serves as a central forum for advancing knowledge, sharing evidence, and building partnerships that drive meaningful solutions in addiction health services research and implementation science. Through this work, AAHSR is shaping a national agenda to strengthen prevention and treatment for substance misuse and use disorders—advancing research-informed approaches that improve care delivery, enhance systems, and achieve better outcomes for individuals and communities
